Choose Natural Skin Care

Each day we make dozens of choices about what we put into our bodies. Many of us try to eat organically to reduce our intake of pesticides and other harsh chemicals. But what about when it comes to our skin? We often forget that a healthy lifestyle must go beyond what we put into our body-it should also reflect how we take care of our bodies.

Our skin is the largest organ in our body, and does a lot to protect us. So the favor should be returned! Treating your skin with the utmost care begins with using products made of natural ingredients. When adopting a natural skin care routine, not only are you treating your skin kindly, you are avoiding harmful synthetic chemicals too!

Benefits of Natural Skin Care

  • Minimize Your Toxic Load
Many common skin care products contain chemicals like formaldehyde and hydroquinone, both of which are considered carcinogenic to humans. Avoid chemical laden skin products when you choose natural products.
  • Decrease Environmental Impact
Keeping harsh chemicals off your skin also means they aren't winding up in our air, waterways or soil. At Hazelday Spa, we carry Glymed Plus, a certified organic line of skin care products!
  • Ideal For Sensitive Skin
Irritants may be lurking behind the packaging of your favorite skin care products. Many skin care products also contain unnecessary fragrances and nasty sulfates. When choosing natural skin care products, you reduce your exposure to skin irritants.
  • Beautiful, Clear Skin
Skin care products do not need tons of chemicals in them to be effective. The ingredients in natural skin care absorb moisture and improve your skin's barrier. Protect your skin while keeping it healthy!

Your Skin Deserves a Routine as Unique as You

Caring for your skin starts with knowing your skin type. Those of us with oily skin have different skin care needs than those of us with acne prone skin. Every skin type reacts differently to specific products and ingredients. Your skin type can change due to age, stress, or external factors, so commercial products made for the general population may not be the most viable choice.

Whether your skin is sensitive, dry, oily or acne prone, our skincare professionals at Hazelday Spa will help you develop a skin care regime that works best for you. We take our consultations seriously because your skin is a very important matter!

At Hazelday Spa you will see results fast with professional skincare facial treatments and other services.

Evaluation and Professional Skincare

The professionals at Hazelday Spa are Master Estheticians and Certified Sugaring Hair Removal experts servicing Utah at their locations in Sandy, UT. They received their certification and education from Alexandria Professional, the nation's first and only sugar epilation company to be approved by a National Accrediting Company NACCAS (National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences). These professionals provide facial services including chemical peels, DermaSound facials, and GlyMed treatments!

After greeting each client, we sit down for a free professional skincare consultation where we will analyze your skin and learn your current methods of care. We know that everyone’s skin is unique and requires a customized skin care solution. We then make treatment recommendations and follow up with suggestions that may bring improved results.

Unlike other skincare spas, we take the time to get to know you and your unique, beautiful skin. By forming a one-on-one relationship we can help you improve your skin and find a skin care regime that works best for you, we guarantee it!

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments that produce an improved appearance of the face. They are used for the treatment of photoaging (from sun damage), wrinkles, scarring, acne, precancerous lesions, and discoloration (or dyschromia). Chemical peels remove dead skin cells from the surface to reveal fresh new skin, increasing the growth and development of your skin. At Hazelday Spa we offer two different types of chemical peels.

TCA, or Trichloroacetic Acid, provides a strong chemical exfoliation to reduce post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, sun damage, superficial blemishes, post-acne scars, and correct and smooth out fine surface wrinkles through stimulation of reproductive collagen. TCA peels are considered “medium peels” as they reach deeper layers of skin. The deeper the peel, the more dramatic the results.

A TCA peel will require more recovery time than a gentler AHA peel, so it is best for individuals with deeper fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and extensive sun damage.

AHA peels work by dissolving the top most layer of skin to trigger skin cell repair. You won’t see dramatic skin sloughing like you do with a TCA peel, but AHA peels remove hundreds of thousands of dead skin cells that are invisible to the naked eye. Mild irritation may occur and minimal peeling may be noticed in the following days. Overall, an AHA peel is an excellent beautifying treatment for those with sensitive skin.

Is your skin prone to pesky break outs? Do acne scars or hyperpigmentation leave you feeling insecure about your skin? Don't fret! Hazelday Spa offers facials that can improve the appearance of acne scars, reduce active acne breakouts, and help smooth your way back to bright, even skin!

Glymed Plus facial products are professional grade and only available through doctors or licensed estheticians. The entire line is certified organic and created locally by an onsite biochemist. These products are pure and not only feel good on your skin, they continually work on your skin to improve overall health. We carry the entire product line and use them in every facial we perform.

With exfoliating properties and collagen production, DermaSound facials with Hazelday Spa restores your skin and encourages healthier skin cell growth.

At-Home Skin Care

Here are some at-home skin care tips that our estheticians follow! They are simple, easy-to-follow, and go a long way in establishing healthy skin habits.

Use cold water when washing your face

Cool temperatures reduce puffiness, tighten the appearance of your skin, and calm inflammation. Hot water can leave the face feeling stripped, weakening your skin barrier and leading to dehydration. It can also aggravate any inflammatory ailments like acne, rosacea and melasma.

Switch your pillow cases

Keeping your pillow cases clean is a top beauty secret. Pillowcases are a hotspot for dirt, bacteria and oil from our faces, hair and environment. They can easily become a breeding ground for breakouts. Aim to swap your pillow cases at least once a week to reduce risk of breakouts.

Wash your hands

Your hands are covered in bacteria from touching surfaces all day long. When we touch our face, we are spreading that bacteria to our skin, which can trigger breakouts and irritation. Always wash your hands before touching your face.

Clean your makeup brushes

Regularly cleaning your makeup brushes can make a huge improvement in your skin. Makeup brushes harbor bacteria, debris, and oil, and can cause acne or inflammation in your skin when used without cleaning.
